How I fell in love with 6 kids?

Image
Here's is the story about one of my most memorable journeys. I went to Kanyakumari to work on a Tamil feature film. The idea was to detach myself from my love but actually I got attached to 6 kids. Vella Panni is a Tamil feature film and it was my first experience to work in a feature film. I was given the role of an administrator and also as Director’s Assistant. I made lists, did some coordination and management and later on took care of the 6 leading artists who were kids woking in the movie. This was my first experience of working with the kids. When I told my mom that I am taking care of six kids, she was surprised. I was a person who could hardly spend 10 minutes with children. But, situation changes and we also change. I loved and enjoyed loving and playing with the kids. I miss them. The kid who played the role of Krishna was the naughtiest of all. He hardly listened to anyone. I will always remember how he opened a packet of surf excel, threw it, so...

How did the travel bug bite me?

Hellos, My mission and goal of life is to travel. Explore the world as much as I can. But, in a responsible way.   So, I started my company ‘ECOPLORE’ which helps you go on a eco friendly vacation. With Ecoplore, you get to stay in non concrete constructions. You experience life in houses made of mud, wood, stone, bamboo or any other local material but not brick and cement. I will share the journey of Ecoplore some other time but right now, let me tell you my idea of travel. Travel for me is love, life and learning. Travel has given me the most learnings. I specially love travelling to nature based destinations as it teaches you many things. Nature has given me answers to all my questions and beyond all this it provides immense peace. Before starting Ecoplore, I used to travel only for fun. That kind of tours continued for around 7 to 8 years but gradually I started feeling some void. There was no purpose in my travel. Ecoplore filled that void. So, now when I...

A letter of gratitude

I wish to Thank God for showering me, with so much love.   My parents Jyotsna Singh and Raj Kishore Prasad are the best gift I have got. They went beyond their capacity to nurture us. Our mom and dad fulfilled all our wishes by killing even their smallest desires. The picture of the day when my mom took a loan of Rs 5000 from her colleague to buy me a camera for my Journalism will always be there in front of my eyes. I never saw her buying a single saari for herself. She was contented with whatever she got from others.   Our parents taught us to take our own decisions and always stood by us in whatever we did.   When my family wanted me to get married, God sent an angel in the form of Ankit who is my shoulder in times of pain and pleasure. The best thing about Ankit is that he has shown full trust in me and has given me complete freedom to lead my life the way I want. Getting a husband who respects and values your passion is rare to find, at least in...

Ecobnb: Our Competitor becomes our 1st Partner

While doing extensive research for ecoplore.com, I came across a website called ecobnb.com which was almost similar to the vision of Ecoplore.   Ecobnb is an Italy based website, supported by European Union that promotes and books eco-friendly accommodations. As I scanned through the webpages of ecobnb, the pictures of the green hotels seemed tempting. I wish to visit them someday. I think anyone and everyone would get enticed by those lovely pictures. So ecobnb.com is the closest existing website that represents the dream of ecoplore.com . When I first saw ecobnb.com almost, after a year after conceptualising Ecoplore, I was surprised to see how someone else was doing exactly the same thing that we are trying to do. Hence, we mentioned ecobnb.com as our competitor in all our presentations and other documentation.   During my visit to Auroville in Tamil Nadu, India, I met a South American guy named ‘Ernesto’. As, we shared each other’s dreams,...

What is Ecoplore?

All of us love to go on holidays. It is important for us to get away from the hectic city life to rejuvenate ourselves.  On a holiday you would normally stay at a hotel, have breakfast, hire a taxi and go for sightseeing at a tourist destination full of other travellers. Those two days of hard earned leave, you had taken to relax and have some peace also goes waste into crowd, noise and pollution, this time not in your city but at the tourist destination.  Ecoplore comes with a breathe of fresh air…. All the eco-stays provided by Ecoplore are located in exotic locations. They are a bit far from the main town of the tourist destination. There is no crowd, no pollution and of course no honking cars. You are provided with all the three meals, morning and evening tea and snacks and a lot of activities. These activities could be trekking, water surfing, river crossing, ladder climbing, mountain biking, rappelling, rock climbing and many others depending on the location. The...

When Spirituality meets Materialism

Just want to share an experience with Isha Yoga Foundation. The foundation persuaded my husband Ankit Lal to do free digital marketing and get a Twitter trend done on the Mahashivratri. Ankit got the Twitter trend done thinking he is working for a good cause and was allured that he would get the project for Digital and Social media marketing for Isha Foundation. After successfully getting the twitter trend done which would have costed around Rs 3 lakhs, when Ankit tried  to talk about the Digital marketing project, the Isha Foundation asked Ankit to do a course to understand the foundation better. Although, Ankit was least interested in doing the course, I persuaded him to do it as I had heard about its positive experience from Rashmi di and Kapil. Ankit after lot of persuasion agreed to do the Inner Engineering course. As Ankit had done it's Digital Marketing for free, it was obvious for us that we won't have to pay for the course. But here is the moral of the stor...
